The download is empty, or has no rows

Grade filters, what is downloadable, and what is silently dropped.

A finished export can still produce nothing to download, and the message tells you why:

No rows match the chosen statuses. Pick more statuses (e.g. include Catch-all) and try again.

Which grades are downloadable

Downloadable grades are 'valid', 'catch_all' and 'risky'. Invalid and unverified rows are filtered out free and never downloadable.

Three grades can be downloaded, and you choose which of them to include:

  • Valid - the address was confirmed deliverable. Always include these.
  • Catch-all - the mail server accepts everything, so no vendor on earth can confirm the individual mailbox. Labelled honestly rather than quietly counted as valid. Many teams include them in a separate, slower campaign.
  • Risky - deliverable but with a signal worth knowing about. Include deliberately, not by default.

Invalid and unverified rows are removed before the file is built, cost nothing, and cannot be downloaded at any price. That is the pay-per-valid rule doing its job.

Why the file can be empty

  1. You selected only 'valid' on a catch-all heavy segment. Some industries and regions run mostly on catch-all servers. Re-open the grade selector and include catch-all.
  2. The segment had few usable addresses to begin with. Check the export summary: it states rows selected against rows delivered.
  3. You filtered twice. A narrow grade choice on an already narrow segment leaves nothing.

An empty download is never a wasted charge. You are billed per delivered verified contact, so a file with no rows has no cost attached to it.
