Company search vs. people search

Two entry points, two questions, and when to use which.

Argorant has two search surfaces, and they answer different questions.

  • People search answers who should I contact. Every row is a person, and filters like title, seniority and role apply. This is where lists for outbound come from.
  • Company search answers which organisations exist in this market. Every row is a company, filtered by industry, keywords, size and location.

Company search is the better starting point when you are still defining a market. Because it counts organisations rather than people, the number is not inflated by companies that happen to have many employees in your target function, which makes it the honest denominator for market sizing and for territory planning.

People search is the right surface as soon as you know which companies you want and need to decide who inside them to approach. Both surfaces are free to search and count, on every tier, and both are reachable from your AI agent as well as from the app.

A common two-step: size the market in company search, confirm the industry and keyword combination there, then rebuild the same filter set in people search and add seniority. You arrive at a people list you can explain, which matters when someone asks why the campaign targets who it targets.
